Does kindness REALLY make us happy?
In brief. Yes. Experts have been studying the science of kindness for decades and much has been written about the benefits of being kind. Kindness makes us feel good, mentally and physically. Read on...
Do you have a story to tell?
Click here!Cheltenham has started a new initiative that tackles two problems at the same time. Plastic waste and dog poop.
It's certainly a creative way to tackle plastic waste but we can't help but think it's a genius move! Small plastic bottles filled with plastic bags have been taped to lamposts in parks with a simple message on them.
"Did you forget your poo bags? Please help to keep our town poo free by taking a bag and clearing up your dog's poo. Anytime you are passing, please put a spare in for others that may forget. Always clean up after your pet and dispose of the bag responsibly in a bin or take it home with you. Let's keep our town clean and safe!"
What's more amazing is that this scheme was created by 11-year-old and 7-year-old Oliver and Samuel, brothers who found themselves frustrated with all the dog poop covering their local sports fields.
In an interview, Oliver stated that,
“If you go walk your dogs, would you like to go for a normal walk and just start stepping in poo on the floor and risk getting your shoes dirty or would you be happy just to get a poo bag and pick it up and put it in the bag?”
I think it's fair to say that when Oliver puts it like that, then we would all definitely pick up the poo in a bag!
We have a lot of love for these two kind legends, and it has certainly inspired us to take a look at a few different kind acts that could be added to Good&Kind in the future!
